Associates
news
Fortune magazine has once again identified the "most admired companies,"
and this year a number of CSG Associate members appear high on that list. Recognized for
their "global reach and vision," as well as ability to "seize opportunities
from chaos and commit to long-term plans," ten of the 25 Fortune All-Stars are
CSG Associates.Fortune surveyed senior executives, outside
directors and financial analysts in 21 industries. Industries were evaluated on eight
criteria: overall management, quality, products or service quality, innovativeness, value
as a long-term investment, financial strength, responsibility to the community and
environment, wise use of corporate assets and how effective each company does business
globally. Over 260 companies were listed by ranking within their industries and compared
to their previous year’s ranking if applicable. Fortune asked those surveyed
to select the five companies they most admire – the All-Star list is composed of the
25 companies that received the most votes.
CSG Associates on the All-Star list are: General Electric, Coca-Cola, Pfizer,
Toyota Motor Sales, Merck, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Citicorp, AT&T
and IBM. The complete list of companies ranked within their industries as well as the full
All-Star list is in the October 26, 1998, issue of Fortune.
